Provisioned space does not match space reported by fdisk (VMware ESXi and CentOS 6.6)

Hello,

I'm running a CentOS 6.6 virtual machine using VMware ESXi and I've provisioned 114.05 GB for the vm.

However, when I run fdisk -l it tells me that /dev/sda is only 53.7 GB (48.9 GB is for root and 4,227 MB for swap). There are no other disks.

There's no home partition, but that's not a problem because I mount a directory from another machine as my home directory.

However, it's very interesting that fdisk is not detecting this other ~50 GB that I'm allocating for it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Can you grow the instance out to 114? Gparted for example? Can you add a drive to it to account for the missing space or does it tell you you've hit the provisioned limit of the instance? Are you using vCenter and if so does its version match the ESXi servers ? Another hyper-visor, perhaps? Or are you working the virt platform via ESXCli?
Assuming you're locked at roughly half the alloted storage, I'd start by querying the ESXi server on it's cli interface and see if the response matches what the remote management software is saying.
