Hello All ,
i am wondering if anyone can furnish me with this information:

1. What is the productivity like in open source development like Linux ?
specifically what are the number of hours put in per week to the number of SLOC generated and in what time period.

sincerely,

Not sure about SLOC? But if you want to see a good idea of what timelines Linus and the rest of the kernel devels. have you can go to www.kernel.org and read about that. Most of the open source ends up being user specific, so in case most programs are written by hundreds of different individuals that contribute thier work. I don't think each one posts a timeline or man hours they've put in and it'd be a long time before you found out seeing how many work on different things. Otherwise, i have no clue..
