Problems with vi / vim in Fedora core 2

Whenever I try to vi a files, I get the following error:

E575: viminfo: Illegal starting char in line: osts.deny^@
Hit ENTER or type command to continue

Has anyone ever seen this and how do I fix it? Reinstall the vim package?

It has nothing to do with reinstalling vim

I think the .viminfo file in your home directory is having some problems

Check the file .Move it to some name and see if the same error occurs again.

Cheers
