Hi,

I am trying to copy a cd for a friend, when I mount it and do ls I get

Code:
AUTORUN.INF* cd3.swf* img/ logo.ico* project.exe* sounds/ start.ini*
I did :
Code:
 mkisofs -r -o /home/mark/temp/mark.cd /mnt/cdrom
and got a bunch of messages
Code:
Using LOCAT000.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_pop2.jpg (location_pop1.jpg)
Using LOCAT001.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_pop1.jpg (location_big9.jpg)
Using LOCAT002.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big9.jpg (location_big8.jpg)
Using LOCAT003.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big8.jpg (location_big7.jpg)
Using LOCAT004.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big7.jpg (location_big6.jpg)
Using LOCAT005.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big6.jpg (location_big5.jpg)
Using LOCAT006.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big5.jpg (location_big4.jpg)
Using LOCAT007.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big4.jpg (location_big3.jpg)
Using LOCAT008.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big3.jpg (location_big2.jpg)
Using LOCAT009.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big2.jpg (location_big13.jpg)
Using LOCAT00A.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big13.jpg (location_big12.jpg)
Using LOCAT00B.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big12.jpg (location_big11.jpg)
Using LOCAT00C.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big11.jpg (location_big10.jpg)
Using LOCAT00D.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big10.jpg (location_big1.jpg)
Using LOCAT00E.JPG;1 for /mnt/cdrom/img/location_big1.jpg (location_3.jpg)
and more....

then I did
Code:
cdrecord -v speed=2 dev=0,0,0 -data /home/mark/temp/mark.cd
cdrecord finished up with no error messages but when I mount the new cd and do ls I get
Code:
????/ ???????* ???????* ???????* ???????* ???????* ???????* ???????*
???????* ???????* ???????* ???????* ???????* ???????* ???????*

Thank you for any suggestions

Funny this, I took the cd down to my friend, put it into his WinXP machine and it worked perfectly.

Auto ran with music, pictures etc

Still I am curious to know why the files show up as ??????? etc in linux.
