Do you have more than one kernel installed?

You must be in the kernel(or move(mv) the nvidia module to the right place in /lib/modules) that has the nvidia kernel module installed to.. eg: uname -r (2.6.17) the nvidia kernel module must be in /lib/modules/2.6.17/etc etc blah blah

Catch my flow?

Yes i have more than one kernel installed.one is 2.6.15 and another one is 2.6.17.I didn't remove the other kernel(2.6.15) because i'm afraid my brother would scold me.He's the one who install the other kernel.
I have put the kernel module nvidia.ko into this directory:

/lib/modules/2.6.17-1.2174_FC5/kernel/drivers/video

So,If you can help me I would appreciate your help.

anytime you upgrade the kernel you have to reinstall the video driver

I installed the kernel before installing the nvidia driver.

Did you compile the module under the 2.6.17 kernel or the 2.6.15?

insmod kmod-nvidia

I'm not sure as I'm using the proprietary drivers.
