problem installing kernel 2.6.28 from sources in suse 11


hello
i am running suse 11 kernel version 2.6.25.
i tried to install kernel 2.6.28 following the instructions at

http://informatix.or.id/willy/instal...rom-source.php

this page does not mention making initrd

but i did mkinitrd -k /boot/vmlinuz -i /boot/initrd

now when i restart in the new system

i get the following messages...

ioremap error
.
.
.
kgdbts run plant and detach test
.
.
.
no ibft detected
.
.
.
using IPI-no shortest node
it87wdt- unknown chip found
w83697ug/uf wdt initialized
no w83697ug/uf found
.
.
.
kernel panic no init found



and the computer hangs

where is the problem

Your link is broken.
The usual process for installing a 2.6 kernel is

There are a number of steps, which, if missed or performed incorrectly, could lead to that error you got. For eg. if you don't have a correct initrd line in grub.
