Printer recomendations please

I've been on Slack ware (8.0 now)for almost 8 years or so and have never had much of a demand to print things. Lately, I've discovered the Blender and want/need to print color logos and such. I have a Deskjet 697C which seems to be terrible at printing colors that are on screen.

I know about ghostview and print drivers and Cups and all that, but none seem to work very well. I don't know if it's the printer, the driver, or my setup but what I try to print always looks terriable. My beautiful Blender Creations turn to trash.

Could someone recommend a printer/driver setup for linux that will do a decent job of printing jpeg, png, or targa files? Something at least close to photo quality. I don't mind paying for good stuff

.

Gidday mate ...

You might want to have a squizzy at
Linuxprinting.org

These guys seem to be quite fond of your model :)

If you *REALLY* want a new printer, try this one.

Cheers,
Tink
