I unfortunately made a very serious careless mistake, in the urgency of trying to get a demo site in front of a few customers, of "simply using" the Plesk software that is the default configuration for a virtual server at 1&1. Then, didn't pay enough attention to things after that. Turns out the software has great big holes in it, not to mention a
lot of stuff that I never had any intention to use. Shoulda known better.
