I hope this is the correct forum to put this in...

Here's the situation: I was trying to install GAIM. It told me I needed a newer version of Glib. I downloaded Glib and tried to install it... it told me I need a newer version of pkg-config. After a bit of searching, I found that I should go to freedesktop.org to get the pkg tool. The thing is, the site is down (I just get a message saying "www .freedesktop.org could not be found. Please check the name and try again").

Is there anywhere else I can go to get what I need or, at the very least, should the site be back up again?
