patching the kernel with "inotify"


hi

i need to patch the kernel with "inotify".... can somebody help me with this please....

i have never patched the kernel before.. so i have no clue as to what i should do.

i will really appreciate it if i can get more specifics... N also links to the patches/source..


PS: 'm using pcq 2005 kernel: 2.6.10

Can you upgrade to kernel 2.6.13-rc3 or more recent. That is when INOTIFY became included in the stable kernel series.
Otherwise you may need to apply a patch.
