I just reinstalled Gentoo Linux and I'm having problems with nvidia-glx.

I can run any glx program as root, but not as user. My user is currently in the video group, so thats not it. Everything for root works perfectly such as glxgears.

When I'm logged in as my user, the 2d works fine, but running a game or any opengl program i get segmentation fault immediately when the driver is being used.

I have nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx installed on here and I have no clue why this is happening.

I'm very desperate to finding an answer to this.

What are the permissions on the /dev/nvidia* nodes? Try changing them to 0666 and see if that fixes anything.
