No Keyboard in X

I use Gentoo, with Xfree 4.3.0-r5. I can load up X with keyboard, mouse, using vesa framebuffer. As soon as I try to load it up with ATI fglrx driver, all I get is a blank screen and no response from keyboard or mouse.

I remember this happening on my other ATI box, and it was something to do with the fact that X starts on tty2 (vt2?) and leaves the keyboard behind. I remember it was a simple fix, but I lost the piece of paper. =(

My XF86config-4 is fine, Option "XKBDisable" didnt help, and CTRL+ALT Backspace or +/- doesnt work either. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Trevor
