nfs share is not mounting automatically

Hello,

I have setup a nfs share on a server (RH 9.0), which appears to have a correct configuration.

I think the problem is at the client side, because when I manually mount the nfs share I have access to the directory on the server from the client pc.

Specially, my guess is that the /etc/fstab file is the cause of my problem.

This is a copy of /etc/fstab file:

LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults 1 1
LABEL=/boot /boot ext3 defaults 1 2
none /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
/dev/hda3 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom udf,iso9660 noauto,owner,kudzu,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner,kudzu 0 0
falcon:/brahms /brahms nfs timeo=14, intr

The last line of this file is the configuration for the nfs and as you can see I am trying to share the /brahms directory on the falcon server and to mount it at /brahms on the client.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wink

I have resolved this problem by adding the following options to the nfs mount line in the /etc/fstab file:

rw,soft,bg,timeo=3,intr 0 0

the complete line from /etc/fstab

falcon:/brahms /brahms nfs rw,soft,bg,timeo=3,intr 0

I hope this can be a help to someone in the future.

/Paul
