Network Card Woes :( 3c905b and Slack 8

I've tried using the module and compiling into kernel, but no luck either way. I get this big fat warning during boot up that says:

No MII transceivers found!

Not sure what this exactly means, but doing a cat /proc/interrupts it lists my eth0 on irq 3. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Ontrose

Well you can try the linux tools for NICs or just make a DOS boot floppy and get the 3Com setup tools for your NIC. If you can't find the tools you can contact me and I can send 'em your way.

IIRC the problem is that the NIC may have been setup diff'rent than normal. I had the same prob from a load of NICs I bought from a guy who had an NT server farm. Bought a superstack II hub and eight NICs for a good price, but all the NICs needed to be reset with the DOS setup prog.

That's what I ended up doing. It does spit out some weird stuff during boot up, but it does work

If it ain't broke, hope it doesn't break.
