Need some help abt usb drive


hi to all

Its not detecting ,when i connect my memmory stick to the usb
Can any body tell wat i hav do next

Tell us more about your problem. What distribution are you using? Are you using Gnome, KDE, fluxbox, etc?

And try this for me. Open a terminal and log in as root. Type this command:

tail -f /var/log/messages
After you run that it should appear to freeze and not return back to the prompt. Its supposed to do that. Now plug in your USB stick. Several new lines should be added on the terminal. When they've finished popping up, press Ctrl+C and copy and paste the new messages. And paste them here naturally.
