Angry need assistance with file archive complilation/cd burning issue

i recently downloaded a copy of suse linux pro 8.2 in a 5 cd-set labeled "HLisos"

the format of the archived files contained within the package are labeled as follows:
suse82_1.001 through suse82_1.050 etc respectively for the first disk, for the others:
suse82_2.001 - suse82_2.0050 etc in the format of suse82_X.001 >> x being the disk/cd number

i have 2 questions
1) What program would be used to compile these archives of format .001-.050
2) when burning these files to disk...what method should i use...Bootable cd for cd1, and simply iso or image formats for the remainder of the disks?

any information/advice would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. Is this download illegal to possess?

Yes, it's clearly a warez thing and you knew it the moment you intended to download it. LQ doesn't help you with warez.
