MySQL doesn't work locally on SUSE

Hello everybody. In a nutshell,i run SUSE and i installed the packages of MySQL server and made sure of this, but unfortunately, when i try to invoke the service from the terminal it tells me that it can't access the server from local host.Additionally, when i try to initiate a Data Base using the Data Base Browser application he tells me to use SQLite if i want to use it locally.Thank you for my replier courtesy and every one else.

I have had the same problem. When I tried logging in to MySql on localhost, login was denied. But, if I try to login using the host name from /etc/hostname instead of localhost, login is successful.
