My network device sometimes go down. Why??

Hi, i'm doing this
send pings test for hours to my router 10.0.1.1
and the ping test is perfect, never fail.
8024 send packages, 8024 packages received.
Now
but when make the same ping tests for hours to my linux CPU, i saw that sometimes the ping test say timeout Whan can i do?
Can i edit the timeout value for in my linux cpu? what you think?
This is making me crazy because me linux cpu is loosing packages..
What you recommend me?

Look this outputs
ifconfig

The first thing to troubleshoot when seeing errors like that is swap the cable and if that doesn't fix it and you have access to one the NIC. If you still have errors after doing all that then you can start looking for a software cause. But it's just easier to rule out hardware first.

I'm pretty sure Mr-Bisquit knows this.

I think the question was: Why are you using a virtual device? In other words, how is your network set up that it requires you to create a virtual device.

RE:

Im using that virtual interface just for fun.
The cable doesn't have problem because if i make ping test to my router per hours the ping doesn't fail at anytime...
the problem is in my box i Think , software, hadware or drivers...

When i execute this lspci -v | grep Ethernet -A 1 the output is:

Code:
[root@almacen ~]# lspci -v | grep Ethernet -A 1
00:04.0 Ethernet controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 191 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
Subsystem: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 191 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 22
[root@almacen ~]#
when i execute this ethtool -i eth0 the output is this:
Code:
[root@almacen ~]# ethtool -i eth0
driver: sis190
version: 1.2
firmware-version:
bus-info: 0000:00:04.0
[root@almacen ~]#
Please, how to fix the problem?
