Multiple questions - System clock drift, e17

Well, in a quest to get my laptop running gentoo 2005.1 up and running fully, but one problem is totaly confussing me, my system clock, it runs exactly double the speed it should, 2 seconds for every 1 true second. as you can tell, this gets really annoying. How can i fix this...

also, ive been trying to emerge e17 from CVS the past few days but it always seems to break at differant parts, most often evas has a make error:

i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc: /usr/lib/linGL.so
make[4]: *** [libevas.la] Error 1

...
...
...

!!! ERROR: x11-libs/evas-9999 failed
!!! Function enlightenment_die, Line 73, Exitcode 0
!!! emake failed

i know this is a CVS build so its not garunteed to work, so can some1 point me to a stable snapshot of e17?

thanks in advance
