Multi-drive dual booting

I have two hard drives, hda and hdb. On hda, I already have Windows installed, and on hdb I already have Gentoo installed. The jumpers on hdb are set to Slave, and the Windows HD is the master. Both installs are succesful, I just don't know how to configure the bootloader. I tried
Code:
root (hd1,0)
setup (hd0)
quit
, but all that does is bring up "Grub Loading" then a blank screen for a couple of seconds, and then Windows boots up by default. How can I add Grub to the MBR?

Thanks in advance

ok, first, you need to google.
well, you need to boot into gentoo. follow the instructions in this manual:
http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html

you need to install grub on the harddrive from gentoo. (or lilo. whatever)
