Mozilla 1.6 java plugin

Hello All,

I am running to som serious issues with the Mozilla browser on my Linix machine. I have a Redhat 7.2 installed. I am currently using the Mozilla browser version 1.6. I have had the GCC version 2.9. I have upgraded to the version 3.2.2. Attached is the information for the Version of GCC I have.

root@matrix bin]# gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 3.2.2 20030222 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.2-5)
Copyright (C) 2002 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO
warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

I have then downloaded several JRE version and tried to use different plugins with the Mozilla browsers and none of them show up in the "About Plugins" section.

PLEASE HELP ME.

Regards,

Naveen Patlola

Try the one from:
http://blackdown.org/java-linux/java-linux-d1.html

Don't forget to symlink the plugin into the plugins directory.

i used the rpm from the sun site:

https://jsecom16a.sun.com/ECom/EComA...83b3d158ab1568

which intall the necessary files to /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_04. then you have to create a symlink to the plugin in the mozilla plugins directory:

cd <mozilla install directory>
(in my case cd /usr/local/mozilla)
cd plugins
ln -s <java install location>/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so
(in my case ls -s /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_04/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so)

restart all mozilla programs (including main, newsgroups etc), and it appeared in about plugins
