OK... Its hiding - I know that I've read somewhere how to change the console of a system. I've got an old serial dumb terminal hooked upto the server and want to redirect all the console messages to it. Can anyone remember how to do so?

hmm. wasnt that just addin a line into /etc/syslog.conf like:
kern.notice /dev/ttyS1
note syslog.conf doesnt like spaces, use tabs.
