Move to smaller SSD drive with LVM?
Hi. I am running Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit. It has a 320gig sata drive and I just got an 80gig ssd drive. i want to put the boot and root files system on the SSD and my home folder on the existing sata drive without having to reinstall. I am using LVM. Here is what I have so far.
root@vikram-ThinkPad-T420:~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/ubuntu-root 286G 159G 113G 59% /
udev 3.9G 4.0K 3.9G 1% /dev
tmpfs 1.6G 1.1M 1.6G 1% /run
none 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock
none 3.9G 116K 3.9G 1% /run/shm
none 100M 60K 100M 1% /run/user
cgroup 3.9G 0 3.9G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
/dev/sda1 228M 156M 61M 72% /boot
As you can see I am using 159 gigs of space. However, my home directory accounts for 150gig of that. Is there a way to mount the SSD, move over everything but the home directory to that SSD, fix the boot config, and not mess up the encryption?
