i recently have begun havign problems at boot wiht linux it tells me error mounting local filesystems or something to that effect usually it would just go through and boot anyways but recently it stopped booting at all once it gets to that point i did originally install linux while i had two hdd my two windows partitions were fat32 i took the slave hdd out to loan it to a friend adn installed an ide zip drive (though i never configured it for linux and as far as i know it did not recognize it in any way) sometime in there i started having the problem currently the zip drive is disconnected but it makes no difference in booting i use mandrake 8.2


this is mostly out of curiosity so that i know whats wrong since i imagine it will be just as easy to reinstall wiht mndrk 9 thank you for any help

hard disk mount at boot time has to do with a file /etc/fstab
if u search 'fstab mount' in this board. u would get tons help

mounting zip drive
u might need to install a module for zip drive
and make adequet change in the same /etc/fstab

ps.
and try not to reinstall everytime u have a problem..( that's what i did at first time too)
while try to fix it without reinstalling, u would get much knowledge..
