mount point on new drive

I added a drive, did fdisk, mkfs etc. Also, labeld the partion.

But how do I create the file/directory on the new disk that will be the mount point in the fstab file.

How can I create this when the disk partition is not mounted yet as described in this link section 5.2.3

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/l...eate-part.html

Thanks

You make the directory on your / partition. Then you mount the physical device to that. If it's /dev/hdb1 on '/mnt/new_drive', say, then 'mount /dev/hdb1 /mnt/new_drive' will do it. Also, you'd presumably want to add it to /etc/fstab and have it mount automatically at boot after that, if you just want one big filesystem.

you can also put this entry in your /etc/fstab to have it mounted upon boot.
