mount partition as folder


I recently converted a NTFS partion to ext3 (/ & /home) I have also mounted on seperate Ext3. Is there a way to mount a partion as a folder and mount it in / ?

Thanks for any help!!

im not sure what your asking here... youd mount it the same way you did with your other partitions (/ & / home). when you mount something it DOES get mounted to a folder

You mean you deleted an NTFS partition and then created a new EXT3 partition (partitions??)
/ and /home are not partition names
What do you mean by: " I have also mounted on separate EXT3"??

Adjust the syntax and bit and things will be clearer.
You do not mount a partition as a folder, nor do you mount it "in" something.
Partitions are mounted TO "mountpoints". If you read "mounted" as "connected" it may make more sense.

You can mount (connect) ANY partition to ANY place in the directory hierarchy. Create the mount point (mkdir), and then mount.
(Partition must be formatted before mounting (mkfs)
