More Players Supporting Wild-Cards?

I really like the fact that both ogg123 and
mpg321 handle wild cards well.
However, neither mytrplayer nor mplayer
seem to handle them at all.
Is their some patch or other version
which will let me play multiple files on the commandline?
I wouldn't even mind trying other programs.
Thanks so much in advance
