Migrating gentoo install to new hard drive.

I have looked around for a simple way to transfer my gentoo installation to a larger partition on a new hard drive, but have not found any simple method short of reinstalling, which as painful and time consuming as it was I don't want to do again. Any suggestions?

cp / /dev/hd(WHATEVER)
Why wouldn't you want to do that

I guess first you would have to format it
mke2fs -j /dev/hd(WHATEVER)
extenstion2 for reiserfs
mkreiserfs /dev/hd(WHATEVER)

just copying will certainly not work..... try this.

Installing a bootloader and such on a second drive, you can just install grub or whatever while on your original system, you shouldn't need to use any boot CD's at any point.

Here is my attempt at following said instructions.

bash-2.05b# find -xdev /home | cpio -pvd /mnt
find: paths must precede expression
Usage: find [path...] [expression]
0 blocks
