Question Menuconfig

Using "Menuconfig" I only get two lines, the load and the save option, shouldnt there be a lot more? The probem might be that I interupted a "config"-session and that I have to do som cleaning after that, could that be the problem?

/casp - using slackware 8.1

check your .config* file. size should be ~15k- if not, see if there is an older 1 or reinstall your kernel source.

So let me see if I got ya right:
You enter your kernel source, then run:
make menuconfig
and all that pops up are the 2 choices to load and save, and NO other choices like to configure you kernel? Sounds like you don't have the full kernel. Instead of installing the kernel source, just head over to www.kernel.org and download the latest, or head over here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxquestions
and download the latest with the LQ patches.

Then just compile from scratch.

Cool

Absolutely! When you do an mrproper the .config files go away.

But, in your kernel source directory, see if you have a /configs subdirectory. There you will find a set of "default" config files for a range of processor type and memory sizes. Pick the one that's right for you and copy into /usr/src/linux (or whatever your source tree is called). The start make menuconfig again.

Cheers--
Charles
