Mandrake 9.1 Bamboo Installation Problems

Hi all can any body help, I have downloaded the ISOs and made trhe CD's, but when trying to install I get all the way ( about 10 Min ) to " Installing KDE Environment - Core Files " then it dies, I have tried to download the 3 ISO's from diffteren locations, and re make the cd's but I get the same result.
I was using ASUS DDR 266 Motherboard with AMD Athlon 1700 + XP, and Maxtor 40GB hard Disk and Gforce 64MB AGP , I have also tried to change the mother board to MSI with Celeron 1.7GHZ, same result.
The Mandrake 9.1 RC2 Installes without problems.
I have also tried to change the Hard Disk but it is the same type MAXTOR 40GB, I have tried to low level format the hard disk, same problem.

Anybody with any Ideas ??

try a limited install first to get the system running, then you can add more packages.

check your md5sums after install. get md5sum.exe for windows, run it on the iso, compare to the md5sum code on the server. if they match your isos should work.

google for md5sum.exe.

if you go to linuxiso.org there's a link to a short how-to on how to check md5sums. Its a real timesaver when you know for certain the isos you burned are good.

If they are, do like the suggestion above....try a text install, bare-bones and add the packages you need one at a time...

Personally I've had 2 smooth installs with 9.1 and 3 completely screwed up ones...the screwed up ones were the ones where a bug popped up at one point or another (and one where I screwed it up myself without any help from anyone else )...and I just reinstalled. But once you have it in, its worth it...you'll see.
