make custom initrd with software and drivers for network

hey guys.. i've been searching for hours how to customize an initrd for my PXE.

i am using pxelinux.0 as my netboot

currently i am trying to get the debian netboot initrd with its kernel to work, by editing the init.. however i noticed mostly none initrd out there support ipv4 network support with dhcp.

my idea is to.

1) boot from the initrd
2) get dhcp info, and connect to the network
3) mount nfs from server 10.0.0.1:/src/share/rescue

but how do i install new programs in my initrd?

do i need to compile them and add them into the folders manually.. or is there any helping tools to do that?

i sell my sister to get some answers, i am compleetly lost
