Make block device names persistent between reboots on Oracle Linux

Hi,
I am using Oracle Linux 6.3 on a HP server. HP detects local disk as /dev/sd*
I need to know is there any way to force the linux to assign always /dev/sda to this device. (This is this way in Redhat Enterprise Linux 6.3 but unfortunately in Oracle Linux is not)
It is causing problem for me since I defined my LVM filter as below :
filter = [ "a/sda1/" "a/mpat*/", "a/map*/", "r/.*/" ]

If disk name is changed to anything other than sda then LVM will filter it during reboot,so my localfile systems cannot be mounted.

Thanks in advance.

You might be better off using UUIDs, this is the sort of thing they are used for; see blkid cmd.
(Your fstab likely uses them already).
Alternatively, you could look at adding a new entry in /etc/udev.rules.d.
