mac os x gui?

hi everyone, new here.
i have trawled the internet to find an answer to my question, but i have had no luck!

i am a windoze user at the mo, but i have been toying with the idea of using linux for some time now. the other day, i used my friend's apple laptop and kinda fell in love with os x!

what i would really like is a linux machine with a os x type gui- from what i understand, this should be plausable because of the fact that both os's are kinda unix based. has anyone done this?

i must admit that i am surprised i can't find anything about this on the net- maybe i'm looking in the wrong places, or maybe it does exist but nobody discusses it because of copyright issues with apple.

since apple have recently announced a switch to intel processors for future apple machines, there has been a lot of interest in 'osx86', which is apparently available to developers- people are trying to install it on intel based machines with varying degrees of success.

surely then there should be a lot of interest in a linux distro with an os x type gui?

there are a lot of people and companies on the net making software to give windows xp a mac type gui (indeed i am using one right now) but nothing for linux, which strikes me as very odd- am i missing something?
