lsmod empty after kernel update

Hi,

I'm running RedHat8.0 and just upgraded from 2.4.18 to 2.4.20.

lsmod under the old kernel gave a long list of modules.
lsmod when running the new kernel gives nothing.

What did I do wrong during the build?

I did do a 'make modules' and a 'make modules_install'

Is there some configuration option I messed up?

Thanks a bunch,
Don

lsmod shows only modules that are loaded iva insmod or modprobe. modules built into the kernel will not be seen using it.

u might have built a monolithic kernel instead of being modular (monolithic - built into the kernel).
