Long fsck.ext3 like at boot?

Hi, I would like to know if there is something better than :
Code:
fsck.ext3 -p /dev/sdb1
to study and fix a ext3 hardisk.

I mean this operation above takes very little time <1minute, and if you do : touch /forcefsck then it takes several minutes.

Code:
touch /forcefsck
might be deeper and better. How to realize this with fsck?
(And how to get this progress bar like at boot)

kind regards

e2fsck -fvy is what I use.
f=force
v=verbose
y=yes, fix the @%$£! thing and don't ask stupid questions.

Do not use the 'y' if your disk is really buggered, as it gives it license to mangle any remaining data. There is a fancy option for a % count for use in scripts but I never bothered.

I found that -C 0 -p -f doesnt make progression

-a -C 0 -f /dev/sdb1 does make progression bar
