Question

Hey could some one please tell me how I can cutsomise the login promt that people get when telneting in. I have been on some servers which display an ascii art message showing the server name for example.

I have a program called fancy login which customises the local login prompt. Is there some way of making this do the job?

I just found the answer to this on another site. Found that all that is needed is to edit /etc/issue for local and /etc/issue.net for the telnet prompt.

Question And, you can change the Message of the Day

You can also change the Message of the Day, with the file /etc/motd
Here you can make nice messages after they logged on.
