Question logging in


how do i make the BOOT prompt available during loading linux
if it is made as a comment how do i enable it with out logging
as the root user

right so you mean you want a

LINUX:

prompt when you are in lilo or grub? well firstly it's impossible to make it permanent without being root, if it was then that would defy the point of a root user really wouldn't it? if you're using lilo i *think* you can just press ctrl+x to get a prompt. to remove a menu completely, and only use a console prompt, read the manpage for lilo.

or maybe i'm holding the wrong end of a very wrong stick, your question is a touch confusing.
