Um... I think you are referring to "permissions". Do 'ls -l /' and you can see all the directories in /, their permissions, and owners. In the case of sbin, for example, normal users do not have write privledges, and you must be root to write to that directory. I think this is what you mean by "locked".
The locked directory has come up in MDK distros when attempting to read a CD or floppy diskette. I have no clue as to what actions I have made, if any, to cause a locked directory or how to unlock.
Alright, sorry I guess I wasn't quite clear on your original question.
Hopefully, though, someone familiar with Mandy can help you out.
edit: When I reread that, it seems to me like it would be a floppy diskette that was write-protected. Try moving the little plastic switch in the bottom corner of the floppy to the other position.
Konqueror currently shows /mnt/floppy locked. The diskette is not write protected and is the bootloader disk, which I use to boot MDK9.0 on this machine.
I solved this "problem" by setting the permissions
read and execute for Others: Konqueror was calling
a directory "locked" when Others hadn't those
permissions.
