Linux (Kubuntu 9.04) won't pick up COWON D2 MP3 player

As the title says, I'm having problems with my COWON D2. This thing worked fine in 7.04, 7.10, 8.04, 8.10....

It shows up in lsusb:
Code:
Bus 001 Device 009: ID 0e21:0801 Cowon Systems, Inc.
And in dmesg, it scans but doesn't ever seem to complete:
Code:
[850007.061510] usb-storage: device found at 9
[850007.061514] usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning

Can you mount the device using the terminal? Or is it not showing up in /dev/ ?
