linux games and sound latency

Hello all,

I have a problem with my sound on Fedora Core 1 install.

There is about a half a second delay in sounds when playing games. Many people seem to be having this problem, is there any how-to tutorials on the subject?

I seem to remember the install saying at some point "setting sound latency to ???".

Does anyone know if there is a config. file where the latency can easily be changed?

Thanks in advance
