LiLo isn't working... Grub is overriding...

Hey Everyone,

I seem to have a problem, I just installed Yoper (from ubuntu, without CD) and the install worked well. It was giving me a few errors in the white part when it was changing screens, but it seems as if it made it through. Anyways, I said yes to every one of the lilo questions (that's the right thing to do, right?) and rebooted. Problem is, that my PC didn't boot to lilo, it booted to the GRUB menu that is usually used for booting to ubuntu\mandrake. When I chose to boot to hda5 (which I installed yoper on) it says I have an Error 15 because it couldn't find a file.

What can I do to fix this? I only have one harddrive, and it has quite a few partitions on it.

Thanks for your suggestions!
Luke

I believe hda5 is not bootable because it is a logical partition. You'll need to install lilo to the MBR (/dev/hda) to get it to work, I believe.

Wise thought! It is logical... Thing is I did install it to the MBR... wonder what's up with that. Do I need to redo the partitioning?

I can't imagine needing to redo the partitioning. Try reinstalling it by booting from a live cd and re-running lilo.
