I have to format my windows partition and install win XP again but i know that that is gonna erase my lilo how can i put it back again after that

just boot from your slack CD #1:
when asked for parameters, enter:
bare.i root=/dev/hda noinitrd ro
(just from memory...but it will suggest you the exact string you have to enter)
log in and and run lilo ... or even liloconfig
I guess that should be it ^^
