Light-weighted voice recorder

Hi

I'm looking for a light-weighted voice recorder (for quick note taking).

I've tried most of the CLI tools, the problem is that none of them have
the "pause" feature that I need during recording.

I also know many others,
http://xpt.sourceforge.net/techdocs/...oundRecording/
but haven't find a good (simple) one yet. E.g,

I know that Audacity is "the" tools, but it is too heavy-weighted for
quick voice note taking: multi-track audio editor, digital effects, etc.

In brief, I hope there is a tools like window sound recorder, which is as
simple as possible, but can let me pause during recording.

Thanks

How about GNOME Sound Recorder? As far as I can see, it's a front-end to the sound-recorder package you linked to. I don't know if you use GNOME, but it's usable with other window managers, too, and it's really simple - just like the WinDoze tool you mentionned.

Thanks MoonMind.

The way the GNOME Sound Recorder is packed in Debian makes it not Light-weighted:

Code:
Need to get 4135kB/4306kB of archives. After unpacking 11.6MB will be used.
but thanks all the same.

FYI, I've found a perfect tool:

Code:
$ aptitude install mhwaveedit
Need to get 336kB of archives. After unpacking 791kB will be used.
For anyone interested, full story is at

cheers
