I have installed SuSE 9.1 afresh. I work on KDE. But now I find that the K Menu has become large! I mean no extra programs are installed now, but K Menu shoots up to cover all of the height my monitor has got. And as it adds 'recently used programs', it has become a two column gaint.
This is not the case when I login as root. So, I was able to figure out that the icons shown next to each entry in K Menu are larger in my account than root.
Is there any way to decrease the size of icons, or K Menu? I tried to search it in Menu Editor and kcontrol, but was unable to find.
right click on an unused part of the Panel (the icon tray) to get to the config screen. It's just a matter of setting the size you want. As for the number of recently used apps, there's a config somewhere that you can set the number of recently used to show, but I don't remember where it is or what it called.
You could try editing the menuFont option in /home/<user>/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals or in /opt/kde3/share/config/kdeglobals or in /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdeglobals, in the [general] sections of those files. The first only affects the user's personal config; the other two should be for all users.
