Large K Menu on SuSE 9.1

I have installed SuSE 9.1 afresh. I work on KDE. But now I find that the K Menu has become large! I mean no extra programs are installed now, but K Menu shoots up to cover all of the height my monitor has got. And as it adds 'recently used programs', it has become a two column gaint.

This is not the case when I login as root. So, I was able to figure out that the icons shown next to each entry in K Menu are larger in my account than root.

Is there any way to decrease the size of icons, or K Menu? I tried to search it in Menu Editor and kcontrol, but was unable to find.

right click on an unused part of the Panel (the icon tray) to get to the config screen. It's just a matter of setting the size you want. As for the number of recently used apps, there's a config somewhere that you can set the number of recently used to show, but I don't remember where it is or what it called.

Thanks bigrigdriver, but my problem is different. Probably these screenshots will make it clear:

This is the current look of my K Menu

And this is what I want:

You can see how big the K Menu is. I have found no way to decrease the icon size

You could try editing the menuFont option in /home/<user>/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals or in /opt/kde3/share/config/kdeglobals or in /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdeglobals, in the [general] sections of those files. The first only affects the user's personal config; the other two should be for all users.

No it didn't solve the problem. I tried to edit all the entries with something having "menu" or "icon" in kdeglobals file. But no avail....

OK! Found the solution on KDE forum. I will post it here so that in future people having such problem can be helped

Just edit value of MenuEntryHight under section [menus] to 15 from default 32 in file ./kde/share/config/kickerrc

That worked for me!
