KSirc problems

Hi all im new to the forums and didnt know where to post this. Well im using KSirc and im able to connect to servers and channels, but im having a hard time receiving files. I type out the command to receive the file, but when it comes time to receive it, it says I need to enable the DCC to receive the file. Well, ive looked eveywhere I can imagine inside KSirc, but I can not find the info. Can someone help me out here and tell me what im doing wrong...Any suggestions?? Should I chance IRC programs?? Thanks all and glad to be here...Vince
