Email clients flaking out on links

Not sure when this started happening, think it might have been sometime when i upgraded mozilla (and wasn't happy with it so went back to 0.8). Kmail whenever you click on an http:// link in a message, will try to open it as a file:///var/. Also it can be a little flaky when i try to open a .wav file with XMMS. I assume this is something to do with file associations but I've done what I know and it didn't help.

This also happens with Thunderbird. I should note that it doesn't happen with attachments, only with http:// linked web content.

Thanks!

Mike
