keyboard map error

Hello,

When I start Xorg as a user, the keyboard map seems to be wrong since I can't type chars as #, @,... those that needs the Alt Gr key combination.

If I run Xorg as root, the keyboard I can type these chars.

I guess maybe it is because a permission issue in some file, because it has started to happend one day, not from the fresh installation.

The lgo info tells this:
(II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Generic Keyboard" (type: KEYBOARD)
xkb_keycodes { include "xfree86+aliases(qwerty)" };
xkb_types { include "complete" };
xkb_compatibility { include "complete" };
xkb_symbols { include "pc(pc105)+es" };
xkb_geometry { include "pc(pc105)" };
(WW) Couldn't load XKB keymap, falling back to pre-XKB keymap

setxkbmap -print shows me the same information loaded mindwhile the starting of Xorg, that is the correct one.

Can anybody help me to solve this situation?

Thanks in advance.

1) what is your distro

2) what is your preferred language.

I am guessing es is spain?

you can set your normal user locale and its associated keyboard layout but you need to know exactly what your keyboard is.

if you use KDE use the kde control centre to change locale

otherwise see if this kb link helps you decide what you have
