Kernel dualboot

Hi!
I've compiled a 2.4.28 kernel to use on my SuSe 9.2 system since Cedega/WineX works really bad for me with the 2.6.x kernels.
I compiled it using the defconfig for my current 2.6.8 kernel, didnt give me any errors so I guess 2.4 and 2.6 are pretty smiliar.

Anyways, can I in grub define which systemmap to use? I dont wanna change the link in /boot since i'll be using both kernels, mostly 2.6.

Thanks in advance

hi there

this is from my grub.conf

----------

title Fedora Core (2.6.5-1.358)
root (hd0,2)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.5-1.358 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet
initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.5-1.358.img

title Fedora Core (2.6.9-rc4)
root (hd0,2)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.9-rc4 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet
initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.9-rc4.img

title Fedora Core (2.6.9gm61)
root (hd0,2)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.9gm61 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet
initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.9gm61.img

----------

so u see i am using diffent kernels.
the name of the system.map should be the same as that of the krrnel image and initrd image so that it gets mapped from them

regards

Hi! Thanks for the quick answer.
I haven't got any initrd for my 2.4 kernel, if it's not the same as my System.map-2.4.28?

this techniques is mostly for people who wanted to install linux just to try it and if they dont like it they cant just delete the linux partition and wouldnt harm windows booting process
