kde3.4 transparency

Is there something like a command line option to pass when executing a program to skip or disable the program from using transparencies?
I'm having problems with mplayer and a few other things.
With mplayer (and transparencies enabled) all I get is a blue screen, but the same video output works perfectly fine without transparencies.

Thanks in advance

I know that this post is probably already archived, but I was browsing 'My Post' and realized that I figured this out and never stated how...
It's one of my biggest pet peeves when people do this... and I have fallen into my own trapt...
so here's the solution....

Even though it would be nice to have a command line option, I couldn't find any, but I did find a simple workaround....

1.) Open up the 'Control Center' and go to 'Desktop' -> 'Window-Specific Settings'
2.) Click the 'New...' button
3.) Specify all the appropriate settings for the program (I found the easiest way to do this was by clicking the 'Detect' button and then clicking the appropriate window)
4.) Click the 'Preferences' tab
5.) Enable the 'Active opacity in %' check button and change the dropdown box to read 'Force'
6.) Specify the appropriate percentage
7.) Repeat steps 5 & 6 for the 'Inactive opacity in %' check button

Cheers...
