KDE freezes on identical machines

Hi Folks- a strange one here:
I have 3 identical IBM desktops on which I installed identical FC4 distribution. Two of the three machines experience random freezing of the GUI (or only the keyboard will work). Also, they continue to serve files, only V---e---r---y s--l--o--w--l--y. After hard re-boot everything is ok- for another day or two.
The third machine performs flawlessly. The only difference is that the the two bad guys are sharing a monitor and speakers via a KVM switch (I haves separate mouses).

Thanks for anyone's input.
Cheers!
LFW

would not think that would be it but some KVM do strange things while switching from on to the other. If you can just hook up the monitor keyboard mouse to one machine and see if it runs fine. Check your logs for errors. Only other thought is maybe those two are running the same program on each while the other doesn't run it. A memory leak in that app. Check system resources over the period of time to see if running out of memory and swap space. Another thought is possible heat issue, no air flow depending where located. Another thought is start the computers up in runlevel 3 and only startx when needed. Logout and shutdown the X server. This might eleimante the KDE. Or when not using the computer logout of KDE and return to the gui login manager.
